Are you passionate about the Arts, and understand the benefits they can have for young people’s wellbeing?

Are you looking for a role where every day is different and you work in a team with other creative people to make a real difference to other people’s lives?

If so, this new role working with young people may be the perfect opportunity for you!

About the service

Creative Natives is an art-based project that uses creativity to promote positive mental health and wellbeing with young people aged 12-24 in a safe, support Creative Studio.  This includes those who have disengaged from school and need additional support, and those who have left school with no positive destination.
Many of our attendees have experienced poor mental health due to a number of factors including neurodiversity, gender identity, social anxiety and exclusion, often aggravated by social isolation caused by the pandemic.

About the post

The Arts and Wellbeing Keyworker supports young people, and their families, by creating, planning and facilitating a programme of arts/creativity-based activity.
You will directly support young people to improve their wellbeing and explore their next steps in life, through the medium of creativity in all its forms including art, music, fashion, animation, photography, graphics and web design.

About you

You will be experienced in working with young people and have experience or understanding of mental health issues.

You’ll be interested in art and creativity, and keen to use your excellent relationship-building and organisational skills to make ‘small differences’ to improve the wellbeing of others.

Being passionate about helping young people reach their potential is also essential!

How we’ll support you

You’ll be working independently as part of a team of skilled, experienced keyworkers with a supportive manager.  We will encourage you use your creativity to innovate new activities, and support you to introduce them.
You will have access to wider Cyrenians support, including our learning and development programme, and staff wellbeing services.
